Meet Lauren! She’s a young, determined, and talented little ball of energy. Super athletic and very humble. She’s been quickly improving and is one of the most coachable athletes we have at the box! Go Millersville!
When did you join CFU, and what made you walk through those doors?
I joined CFU last year around of the end of August. I played sports all throughout high school and college. After graduating I took the opportunity to try new things – yoga, biking, and running. I enjoyed all of those things (and still do) but always felt like something was missing – I missed training and competing and being part of a team. CFU fills that void – so happy I joined!
Do you remember your first WOD, or your thoughts during it?
In 16 MIN
What’s your favorite thing about CrossFit?
My favorite thing about CrossFit: it’s taught me that it’s okay to fail. Failing is an opportunity to learn and grow. When we give ourselves the opportunity to fail, or push past what we know we are able to do, we often end up surprising ourselves by what we are capable of doing. CrossFit is always pushing us to surpass our own expectations – pretty cool!
What type of workouts do you enjoy doing the most?
Any thing short and fast.
What’s one goal you have for the next year?
Hand Stand Push Ups
What would you tell anyone walking into CFU for the first time?
Even if things seem overwhelming at first, stick with it – it will change your life in more ways than one.
What’s your greatest achievement, or what are you most proud of thus far?
This year during the open I set a new power clean PR of 155 – I was pretty proud of that. Don’t know where that came from but it sure surpassed my expectations!
If you could have a workout named after you, what would it be? And what would you name it?
