Lead by CFU’s own Mark Reppert, we will kick-off the first of many events supporting The Weekly Fight on Saturday, April 14 at 10AM!
But what is this, really?
A little while ago, CFU was contacted by a veterans organization called The Weekly Fight. They exist to combat the prevalence of Combat Post-Traumatic Stress through meetings, workouts, and community events. And what better way to make that connection between the community and the individual than CrossFit!
Marty Kenny, a Retired Sergeant Major of the United States Marine Corps, started this organization and partnered with a couple boxes already – CF Inspire and CF Thunder Hill – and they’ve have tremendous success bringing veterans and their families into the boxes based on the shared experience of military service. It’s a phenomenal way to help break down those barriers that often inhibit returning service members from talking and addressing their health, and for the families, who will see others they can lean on for support and sharing ideas.
So how does CFU fit into all of this? And how can you participate with us?
CrossFit Uncompromised is proud to be the first Weekly Fight chapter in the Lancaster area! As a host of The Weekly Fight, we get the opportunity to hold as many of these community WODs as we’d like.
With a little help from Marty and his team on the outreach along with our CFU Family, we can get the word out around the community. These events are open to members and the community alike, and free of charge.
