It doesn’t even need to be explained why Michele deserves to be our athlete of the month! She’s seen at every competition cheering on the pack, she’s in class with a constant smile on her face and she’s never afraid to try something new – like those cleans at 75# in 19.2 and her HUGE deadlift PR in the same weekend!
When did you join CFU, and what made you walk in those doors?
I have to give my husband some credit here as he had been pushing me for awhile to check into CrossFit. It was also time for a change. I needed to find something that worked for me.
Do you remember your first WOD? Or your thoughts during that first WOD?
Don’t really remember my 1st WOD except being scared to death and asking myself what am I getting into and am I ready for this
What’s your favorite thing about CrossFit?
Hands down – the community. Great group of people, full of support and encouragement for everyone around.
What type of workout do you enjoy doing the most?
I enjoy pretty much any of them, except those involving running!!
What’s one goal you have for the year?
Do the 1/2 Murph, which I did last year after only starting CrossFit a week and half before, but this year only scaling one exercise instead of 2 and try to get it done in about the same time.
What would you tell anyone looking to walk into CFU for the first time?
Don’t let what everyone else is doing around you, intimidate you. It’s all about you, do what you can, and most importantly for you.
What’s your greatest achievement, or what are you most proud of thus far?
As most of you know, in just the last week (2/25 – 3/3) I completed 5 non-consecutive DUs, 5 squats cleans @ 75lbs, and my PR 1 rep deadlift @ 190lbs.
If there was a workout named after you:
1) What would be be called?
2) What would it be?
Michele (w/ only one L)
– this WOD would have all exercises that were easier for short people.
